Rehab Centres in Thailand Hope for July Openings
Alcohol and Drug rehab centres in Thailand are optimistic that some international travel will resume in July. Will it bring customers back to treatment?
With the international travel ban extended to June 30, rehabs in Thailand hope to see some return to business in July. It is likely that the return to operating treatment programmes will be gradual at best with Australia and other nations unlikely to allow travel for most of this year.
Any easing in restrictions will likely come with strict conditions including health certificates from travellers and mobile tracking apps to manage the spread of the virus. Existing 14 day quarantine efforts are likely to deter people from considering Thailand as an addiction recovery destination.
It could be some time before addiction treatment in Thailand returns to its former position of growth with many rehab centres looking at an uncertain future.
